About Me
About Me
Greetings! My name is David Oliver, and I’ve spent my entire life in the greater-Seattle area. Since early childhood people told me I should become a professional artist. However, I became a monk!
After spending 16 rewarding years as a Hindu monk, I left the monastery and began pursuing my life-long love of art by becoming an Independent Artist.
I've worked on a variety of creative projects: illustration; comics; digital painting; logos; banners; bookmarks; posters; book and magazine covers; and art direction for a quarterly magazine. My greatest desire is to create art that inspires, educates, and brings joy to others. Sometimes my subject matter is serious, but often it is lighthearted and whimsical.
I love using traditional mediums such as ink, watercolor, graphite, marker, and colored pencil. I also enjoy working digitally using a graphics tablet and stylus or the iPad Pro. I specialize in illustration, comics, and digital painting, but I’m always open to exploring new types of creative projects.
If you have a creative project in mind, please contact me. I think of myself as a life-long learner, always looking for projects that require me to step outside my comfort zone and improve my abilities.
