I utilize both traditional and digital mediums. Graphite, ink, colored pencils and watercolor are currently my preferred traditional tools. My digital tools consist of a computer with graphics tablet and imaging software and an iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. Sometimes I work traditionally. Sometimes I combine traditional and digital mediums, such as an ink drawing that's later scanned and colored digitally. At other times I'll work completely in the digital realm, from rough sketch to finished image. Aside from my original art and art I create for the web, I enjoy printing and reproducing my artwork on a variety of products and materials, such as t-shirts!
Currently my main programs are Procreate for the iPad, Clip Studio Paint Ex (Manga Studio Ex), Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer, and Affinity Publisher. I've also worked with Adobe's Creative Suite for over a decade giving special attention to Photoshop and Illustrator.
I've been a student of the arts for nearly my entire life, though I've never attended a formal art school. I've studied countless instructional books and videos. I've attended instructional classes and conferences. Most importantly, I keep making art and never stop practicing.
Yes! I came to believe the highest purpose of human life is to realize the inherent divinity in myself and in all things. Monastic life seemed like the most direct and efficient way to attain this realization. I'm no longer in the monastery but I highly value the 16 years I spent there.
